About the Event
Many chemicals, both natural and man-made, may mimic or interfere with the body’s hormones, known as the endocrine system. These chemicals are called endocrine or hormonal disruptors and are linked with developmental, reproductive, brain, immune, and other problems.
Endocrine disruptors are found in many everyday products, including food, some plastic bottles and containers, liners of metal food cans, detergents, flame retardants, hygiene products, toys, cosmetics, and pesticides.
Some endocrine-disrupting chemicals are slow to break down in the environment. That characteristic makes them potentially hazardous over time.
During this health session, you will learn about:
- * The Endocrine System
- * Plastics & BPA's
- * Pesticides and GMOS's
- * Household toxins & safe cookware
- * How to avoid endocrine disruptors/substitutions
This workshop is for Soulful Swap Program members only.
